Hi folks

Any advice welcomed on which TC to use with A K5 and Pentax 300m F4 DA* lens,( primarily for wildlife shots )

+1 This is the only TC available that will auto focus reliably with the DA*300.

+1. DA-1.4X AW HD TC works very well with DA*300 and has excellent IQ. Results in a 420mm f/5.6 which is sharp from wide open. AF works well except in difficult light where some hunting is to be expected.

I can also recommend the Pentax AFA1.7x AF converter. With this converter your focus hunting is reduced to the range of the converter and that is not very much. You do lose another ½ stop and in dim light it doesn't want to focus.

Kudo with the Pentax HD 1.4X teleconverter.

For less money, you may want to consider what other members mentioned earlier : Pentax AFA1.7x AF converter and, as well, the Tamron 1.4X Pz-AF MC4.
