"Manual lens use" is part of the fun of Pentax DSLR. I have several old lenses and pieces of equipment purcahsed from Pawn shops and non Camera specific second hand shops that looked a bit tawdry but came up beautifully with some TLC. Seldom do the lenses become scratched in the display case. Dust comes off and the ones that didn't work when I bought them do now after learning how to make little fixes and cleaning the aperture blades and so on. They are worth the trouble, particularly once stopped down slightly. And part of the fun is searching as often the shop owners know little about their stock and some bargains do show up from time to time as reported on these pages. My best was a Pentax k55mm f1.8 in near perfect condition $27. I live in hope of finding a good macro of any focal length.
Anyone heard of a Promura m42 100-300mm f5.6? I got it for $110 - works well! I have read that it could be related to Soligor.. a pawn shop find as another example.
