With my return I plan on buying a Sigma 18-35 Art and a Sigma 8-16. After this big purchase, hopefully i can stop buying lenses for the foreseeable future
Good luck with that
The 8-16 is a remarkable lens by the way.

Easier said than done I know... My theory is if I have the 8-16 and the 18-35, then their isn't really all that much in the way of lenses that are a huge improvement in those focal lengths. I certainly dont see myself forking twice the price out for 4 prime lenses to cover the 18-35mm range when i can have virtually the same thing in one lense

From all my reading the 8-16 is the way to go

The FA*28-70 that's on its way to me is pretty interesting, but it will be even more so, potentially, after November this year.

My Sigma 70-200mm F2.8 APO DG EX OS HSM - I'd hungered for one for 5 years and now I have one - just in time for them to be discontinued.

Wait, has that been announced specifically?

I have yet to see an image from 16-85 that will "wow" me. Based on a couple of available images, the 18-135 (I have one) seems to produce sharper, more contrasty, and subjectively better pictures. My 18-135 has been an outstanding lens as soon as I've understood its limitations. Granted, the 16-85 is relatively a new lens, so I may be using too small a sample.
I'll try to come up with something better than this.

Like some of the other posters in this thread, I'm exited about the DA 16-85. It's the type of lens I've wished for a long time: a slow aperture, weather sealed and dust resistant standard zoom lens with prosumer quality optics, perfect for landscape photography (which is all I'd ever use it for). The only thing that keeps me from getting it immediately is the price. It would be the second most expensive lens in my line-up (behind the DA* 300), and I own the DFA 100 macro and the Tamron 70-200. My original plan is to wait for the black Friday deals in November, but I'm not sure I can wait that long.
