DA*50-135mm users: What else is in your lens kit?

What other lenses do you have in your kit?

This lens is on my roadmap. If I can swing it, I'd like to add this lens to my kit at some point this year. I'm just trying to figure out how to fit it in the bag and what I'm going to have to get rid of (or buy) to accommodate it.

What I find is that the majority of my shooting is done with the Sigma 17-70, but there are times I want a little more speed and a little more reach. I'm undecided as to whether I would also try to grab a DA*16-50mm and have a constant F2.8 available from 16mm to 135mm or keep the 17-70/50-135 combo and live with the overlap (which might be a good thing).

The good thing is that I don't have to make a hasty decision because I need to grab another body with SDM (K200D) before making a decision on lenses. best case scenario for the 50-135 is probably around August/September.

I was just curious as what others were using to compliment to 50-135. My guess is that there are a lot of folks out there with the 16-50/50-135 combo.

I usually lug around either a Tamron 28-75 or a Pentax 12-24 with my 50-135, depending on what I think I'll be photographing. If I'm heading off on vacation, it'll be the ultra-wide and the 50-135mm along with a prime (50 or 31) for shots of me and my wife... I tried having a stranger take a shot with the 50-135 and it's a little awkward (unless they work out :-) ).

Oh, I do have a Tamron 300mm f/2.8 used with a TC for reach, when I need it :-)

In my kit I have the 16-50, 50-135, 50 1.4, 70 ltd, DFA 100 macro, and just got the DA* 300---bag is really getting heavy! Still would like to have DA* 200 2.8

I didn't realize it was that heavy.....not that I'm concerned about it. I don't work out, but I do eat my Wheaties.

Thanks for the input...

Wow! That's a lot of glass in that bag! No wonder it weighs a ton. I can see myself working towards a kit like that, minus the longer lenses. Really sweet setup though...

I have the K200D and my plan is to add the 17-70 Sigma (or possibly the Pentax 17-70) and the DA*50-135. That will be my primary bag (Along with the 360FTZ). I will sell my kit lens after I add those. I'll probably add the FA 50 F1.4 as well. Then I'm going to call it a day on lens buying..................................................................yeah right (no really)

I'm a K10D user and my bag always carries the 50-135, 16-45, 12-24, 100 macro (all Pentax) and I find this covers about all my needs, but I am considering the FA 50 1.4. However I find myself using the 50-135, or the 16-45 most of the time.
