hi all, today i win a auction on ebay for a lens called "Auto Aubell PENTAX PK mount 28mm 2.8 Lens" the seller says is near mint and i win it for 8.06$ and i want to know if anyone know the lens or have any reference, thanks for any info you have

Never heard of it. It is a big hunk of glass...55mm.

I doubt very much that Aubell manufactured the lens, they simply rebranded someone else's lens. Once you identify the manufacturer, you can check the lens reviews. This site should help you find which lens you have:

PS At that price you did well, assuming the lens is in decent condition. There's no such thing as a bad 28mm f2.8, but some are better suited to certain types of photography than others, e.g. a great landscape lens is not necessarily the best lens for general photography.

I don't see a Kiron 28mm f2.8 with 55mm filter size. The 28mm Kirons with 55mm filter size are f/2.0. The Bestiary site may not help. This PF thread is specifically about 28mm f2.8 lenses with 55mm filter size.

I've owned four 28mm primes, but I'm a punter compared to some around here.

You are correct, my oversight. I was focused on the barrel design, though it does appear that design is quite common.
I have a M42 Auto Chinon 55/1.7 with the same barrel design.

28mm 2.8 with 55mm filter thread is Makinon (Makina). I have one branded as Focal and I've used it in my Minolta 35mm setup. It gave me very good and sharp pictures, but I've only used it on film, don't know how it performs on digital.

I'm not aware of anyone else that makes a lens with these specs.

Seems like a good catch! Hope you post some sample photos when you get the lens One with the lens at f2.8 and around nearest focus
28mm is a really good field of view
