Only one day shooting surfing with it. The day was very similar to writing music for me, though, in that I had to force myself to stop. As the day wore on I started to glance at my watch then justify staying another 30 minutes or an hour; I ended up shooting from 11am to 6:30pm. Few things hold my attention that long.

I haven't seen the morning light there yet so the plan for tomorrow is leave LA before sunrise to be at lowers and camera ready by 5am. I may do a last minute Airbnb, if possible, should I decide to shoot into the afternoon again. The afternoon rush hour drive from south OC to north LA is maddening; two extra hours vs the early morning.

You're welcome.

An appropriate exposure timing to cover the surfer action, a depth of field to cover what you prefer (depending on light availability), and an ISO good enough to accommodate any non-cropping or cropping plans depending on your needs, should give you what you need. I am certain the lens is capable. Any hands on experience should be beneficial. Use of camera EV can be practical also, but I am not sure how familiar you are with that.

Anyway, you don't have to reply to this post, just enjoy your day at the beach!!
