DA55-300 + Sunny Day = PhotoBreak at Work!

First, thanks to those who helped in the decision.

New Lens + Sunny Day = PhotoBreak at Work!

So now you have to deal with some pictures.

*Disclaimer: No PP'ing done. Only PEF to JPG in Pentax PhotoLab. Lighting was harsh - I was in an area that was littered with excessively bright spots and dark shady spots. Pics cropped and shrunk to meet size limits.

Now, without further adeiu, here are some test shots.

Cycles

Literally the fourth shot I took with this lens. I liked the composition and colors.

This lens is for the birds!

A bird, a bird, and a bird.

Must admit I was thinking the same, especially the 1st shot

First 2-3 photos look a little too soft. Looks like focusing error, or camera shake.

I dont want you to feel paranoid...

It's hard not to be paranoid when everyone's against you.

But I agree with the others... They all look soft on my monitor. I can not read the exif so I am not sure what your settings were but in bright sun they should have been pretty sharp since the shutterspeed should have been high. As mentioned it could be the resizing program.

If they look sharp on your monitor it is probably your resizing. If you can, do a 100% crop of some of the detailed area to take the resize problem out of the picture.

to me the only one that looked great (sharpness wise) was the red flower. The birds seemed okay but first two for sure did look soft.
