Thoughts on a three-prime kit. Screw-mount experts, please help!!

Assuming you were responding to the question regarding the 28/3.5 the second version was sold as both "Super Takumar" and "S-M-C Takumar". I don't know if there was one labeled "SMC Takumr". The design change happened in the 1966, several years in advance of the SMC technology.

I guess you can't take them to the dentist or on an airplane then. Probably can't eat bananas either.

These elements were removed from lenses because of the hazards posed by industrial waste from the manufacturing, not because the lenses themselves are dangerous. Just don't let your kids keep them in their mouths for months on end (eww right?).
