Any other lenses y'all might recommend?

I was also thinking DA 17-70, as IchabodCrane mentioned. I like mine quite a bit. In other reviews I've heard them mention that it pairs well with either DA* 60-250 or the DA* 50-135.

Mostly, I agree, although one person years ago mentioned that the DA 18-55 and DA 50-200 have the same filter size, and this allowed one to save money on filters.

DA 17-70 has a 67 mm filter thread.

Just to be sure: this is not about "saving money" rather it is about saving space and weight while traveling. I'm happy to spend MORE to build a smaller/lighter kit.

When I travel, I like to travel with a small footprint. Here is my current Pentax kit:

Key to the above photo:
1 = Pentax DA Limited 21mm
2 = Pentax DA 16-45mm f/4
3 = Seagull Right Angle Viewfinder
4 = Pentax O-GPS1 Unit
5 = Pentax DA Limited 15mm
6 = Pentax DA Limited 70mm
7 = Pentax 1.4x Rear Converter
8 = generic remote shutter
9 = custom hot shoe flash extension
10 = Pentax lens hood for 16-45mm
11 = various step up rings
12 = Marumi Circular Polarizer 67mm
13 = Pentax Limited 35mm Macro
14 = Flashpoint (Meike) Mini Speedlight
15 = Pentax 50mm f/1.8
16 = OpTech USA 11” Accessory Pack
17 = OpTech USA Pro Strap
You seem to have forgotten to pack a camera!

More seriously, have a couple of step-up rings and lenses with filter threads smaller than 67mm can also share the same filters.

with 67mm as a selection criterion, the Pentax A * 85mm 1.4 is fantastically clear
I recommend was without question. It makes a good match with the FA * 28 70 2.8 also 67mm

I don't mind your buying strategy. I feel it might be limiting you, since the best lens for your application might not have the filter thread you prefer. And a lens with the correct filter thread might be larger than another lens with an extra filter.

One thing you can consider is a step-up (or down) ring, They don't take much space and can serve in a pinch.
