Vivitar 2X Macro Focusing Teleconverter

Someone said this would make my Vivitar Series 1 90mm 2.5 macro lens a 1-1 factor from a 1-2.... Is this true? since I can't find A converter that goes with the lens. I was bidding on one on fleabay and it's up to 56.00 dollars... I wanted to make sure before I raised my bid

Thanks Jack

2X makes it 1:1

I think any 2x TC would make it a 1:1 macro. 2 x 1/2 = 2/2 = 1. With the Macro TC, you would get larger than life size ratio when you extend it. Your 1.4X Tamron would give you something like 3/4 life size.
