Here's another one..this time using k1000..taken somewhere near Bharatpur, Rajasthan. I apologise for the lousy scan..dad misplaced the negatives and had to scan from a 4x6 print..

Tripod Mount for Pentax K 300/4

I was told by another member of this forum that this tripod mount would work on the Pentax 300, but the top part of the white bump on the lens would have to be removed. I did not want to do this to my lens, and have since sold it, but it seems to me that you might be able to notch the tripod ring instead of the white bump. Anyway - it is cheap and might be worth a try:

Your shot in Bharatpur, Rajasthan with the house in the background looks like a painting! The lousy scan gives it a nice atmospheric effect.

Tripod mount K 300

Pentaxman,

The Canon tripod mount looks a bit thin to cut into. You might destroy it in the process. I had one made especially for this lens from 1/4 inch thick aluminum. This allowed ample space to mill a slot for the white alignment pip. I've shown this mount before but it seems to apply to the current discussion.

If you have this lens consider getting a commercially made product or have a tripod collar made. It really benefits from a tripod mount. From the looks of it that Canon mount mentioned above won't work unless you remove the white pip.

Cheers

TG
