Recomemdation lens for k20d

I am about to get k20d. I can't decide which lens to buy to get the best of out the this camera. I research third party lens like Tamron and sigma. They look pretty the same. I hope to get all in one so I don't need to change lens. Any recommendations?

If you are looking for a "do all" lens I would consider the Pentax 18-250mm (or the tamron version which is optically the same lens). It won't do much in low light situations, but if you don't want to change the lens and are looking for a wide range of focal length, this may be a good one.

Chasseur D'Images in France rated the new Pentax 17-70 f4.0 lens very highly with 4 out of 5 stars. The other choice I would recommend is the Tamron 17-50 f 2.8 lens another winner. I wouldn't opt for the 18-250.

To me, it sounds like you need to give the Sigma 17-70/1.8-4.5 a look. With it's range, its good for both landscape and portraits and with it's 1:2.3 closeup feature, it does a good job with the closeups. Cost-wise, it fits into your budget at under $400 US.

Sigma - Lenses

Here is a page from pbase.com that has some images taken with the 17-70...
