I just recently purchased a Takumar Manual Focus lens from eBay. When I turn the focusing ring it is smooth up until I reach 2 feet focusing distance(going towards minimum focusing distance) on the scale then the lens seems to catch a little and becomes slightly stiffer. Does this mean the lens is warped or does it just need some grease ? So far I can't really tell if it affects picture quality since I don't have anything to compare it with.

Takumar 50mm f1.4.

I have been playing around with it and it looks like it only feels stiff after it sits for a while. If I turn the focusing ring back and forth a couple of times it works smoothly ?
