2x attatchment question

I am getting a 70-300 lens this week, it was delayed from last week and was wondering about the 2x attatchments. Will this turn my 70-300 into a 140-600? If so, what about picture quality?

my experience is pretty muck yuck for IQ. these cheaper 70-300s already have so much glass in them that putting anouther 4-7 pieces in them doesn't help a bit.. try a 1.4-5 and you will only loose 1 stop and get out to 420mm.. i've never liked IQ with 2X on a zoom.

Thanks, I will probably pass on it then. 300 should be enough for now and if I need longer, I will save up for a better quality lens.

Yeah, duh vinci, I was torn between this camera and the deal you had. I think I had mentioned to you that I wanted the k10d. Did you sell your gear?

Yep, you did mention, and I suggested to get what you really wanted to begin with (despite the good deal on Canon). Too many times in life we settle for something less, we all have reasons, but more often than not - we regret it later...

Glad you got what you really wanted! I have absolutely no second thoughts in my decision of switching to Pentax and K10D in particular. All Canon gear is sold

Regards,
D

Great to hear that you got it sold, I didn't think you'd have a problem selling it.
I love the k10d and I do not regret spending the extra money. I would have been fine with the canon, but would have only been buying it for the low price.
I am glad it worked out the way it did, as you already know that these are great cameras!
Well, I will be looking forward to seeing some of your pictures. I am hoping to get out this weekend and shoot, if the weather improves.
