Yes, I was thinking of times when I may want both an ND and a polariser. Thanks.
Originally posted by wkraus I find that MF can indeed be a little difficult in low light with the 16mm. I have not tried a split focus indicator screen but didn't like them even back in the film days. Plus it will throw your metering off. At
Focusing Screen you can find various other choices. I had a Canon S-type screen from them in my K10D but am using the stock screen in my K-5 II now. The S-type is nice with fast lenses but not so good with slower ones (below f/2.8).
Wow,
those types! It's interesting to see the options - thanks for the link. Does replacing the focus screen typically involve much risk (it doesn't look too bad on
their instructions page), and does it invalidate the warranty?

Thanks for the guidance and info on the two. It was definitely the 16mm I was looking at going for. I'm just about to order my K-3 with the HD DA 20-40mm, and for my first wider wide-angle lens I think I'll stick with the more modern auto-focusing HD DA 15mm. Then when I've built some more experience and am up for experimenting with older, faster lenses for night photography I'll probably come back to the Samyang purchase.
