Where as now - half press turns on meter and focus check. Green button stops down and sets shutter speed. Full press to take exposure. You can always bypass the green button step if you set the shutter speed before and the EV of the image hasn't changed much. And you can always go back to check the focus after pressing the green button without having to repeat the entire process. Proposed system would mean stopping down to measure exposure every time.

Still not sure why the green button method is so unpopular.
