Awesome! Did you crop the one inside the church at all? That's pretty good depth of field!

Minimal cropping to the bottom edge where the font the camera was standing on was visible.

BTW, I noticed the zoom ring was not smooth, but jerked along at various points in the throw - is that normal? I know that as you move a zoom it can be moving different element groups, but typically it's still smooth - not jerky.
My copy was doing that. I did have a fall with it on New Years Day and thought maybe I damaged it. However, I just used this lens on a weekend trip and the zoom ring is smoother now after lots of shooting on that trip.

This is four shots seamed together with PT Gui software. Shot with my K-3 at Santa Elena Canyon. Mexico is on the right side of the river, Texas, on the left.

Finally got outside yesterday in search of some new spring growth, I must admit this lens on a K-01 with arms outstretched is awkward to say the least, it's ok on a tripod indoors with good light but no good for someone like me with a pinched nerve in the upper neck. I think I need to look into getting a body with a viewfinder.

Nice shot. Is this where Trump wants his wall.

LOL! We kept joking around on that trip about how we need to enjoy the view before there is a wall!!

What an environmental and visual disaster his wall would be... Fortunantly I do not think we will have to worry about it and this beautiful landscape will be around for future Pentaxians to enjoy.

Nice shot, btw...

I hear you. Great thread and I am looking forward to getting my 16 85 soon. I think it is the ideal "one lens" lens, for when I travel and have to pack very light.

Lovely landscapes and art derelict (anyone see Zoolander?)

Well I got my second copy of this lens from B&H. It was still decentered (but way less than the first copy), and I thought I could live with it anyway. I was really pumped, because the optics really are indeed quite nice - the resolution is superb. But when I got around to real shooting, I noticed it was missing focus a lot, and after putting it on my tripod for an AF test, it's pretty clear that AF is only usable tuned to one focal length. If adjusted for wide, it misses by a lot at tele, and vice versa. I put my trusty kit lens on to verify my technique - it was spot on at all focal lengths. Same with my FA 20-35. So...back to B&H for good. By the time I get a good copy, I'll be using my FA 20-35 on a K-1 anyway.

I'm convinced Pentax has excellent lens designers, they just can't seem to figure out assembly QA these days.
