Got a 16-85 a few months ago and brought it to Iceland in early July. I've had the 16-50 as my workhorse for a few years now and I dare say that the 16-85 is more contrasty and sharper at the edges and corners than my copy of the 16-50 at all apertures! Kinda bittersweet actually cos I've thought my 16-50 to be adequate until now... On the plus side, I've now acquired the lens that the DA18-135 was supposed to be in the first place!
With Anandrangur ("Eagle Rock") in the foreground, Reynishverfi's strip of black beach stretches along the southern coast of Iceland towards the "Troll Rocks" of Reynishdrangar in the distance.

Skogafoss. 65 metres to the top of the falls and looking down. All it took was some sunlight to break cover to induce a spectacular rainbow!
Seljalandsfoss. I've never walked "behind" a waterfall before til now! And this is why we shoot Pentax DSLRs; the wind and the spray from the waterfall was hitting the camera and you need not worry one whit! WR, Baby! Though not being wide enough, i chanced it and changed to a Siggy 8-16 just after this shot.
This one is probably one of the most unique experiences of my life. Being "gondola'd" down the opening of an intact volcano caldera into it's very bowels! An expensive experience but thoroughly worth it! Had to shoot at iso12,800 with the K3 here...
