Is this 16-85mm lens affected by zoom creep? I am currently using 18-135mm when I want an all-in-one lens, but the zoom creep is sometimes annoying.

I've never found it a problem,I also owned the 18-135 and never had a problem with that either.I assume you've checked all the covers over the ports on the body are tightly closed?

Great shots! Best kit walk-around lens ever

On my K5ii they are rubber sealed covers over the DC in,PC/AV andHDMI,microphone socket and one other on the base of the camera. If they're not properly closed it lets air into the camera body which may contribute to zoom creep.

Thanks for the comments in your other post,I've certainly been more than happy with my 16-85

Thanks. I didn't think about that. I opened and closed all the ports firmly, then the surprise, the zoom creep almost disappears. It does not happen without the lens hood mounted, after mounting the lens hood, in certain positions it reappears this zoom creep.

Well, over my vacation, my 16-85 jammed and would not zoom. Basically it is stuck on 16mm. Just packaged it up and will be sending it to Ricoh Canada for repair. Hopefully under warranty! Luckily I had my trusty 18-55 in the camera bag to sustain me through the rest of the trip.

This is why I love the K-3 combo with the 16-85.
Here is a shot zoomed all the way out to 85 *and* cropped significantly as well!

I took the K-5IIs/DA 16-85 with me driving my daughter to her new job at Mizzou--and left it with her.

I know--right? (as she would say) but she's hard to resist.

My daughter once sent me a card that said
"I'll always be your little girl, as long as you continue to buy me stuff."
