Nice photo but couldn't they come up with a better name for that lake?!
This bit doesn't even look all that muddy, either!

Maybe there's so many lakes in the area all the good names got taken up. Here's the almost adjoining Spring Lake:

They could name it "Lake Greg" or something. Nice photo of Spring Lake, too.

I took the K-3 and 16-85mm out on Saturday to shoot the huge snowfall we got between Friday and Saturday here in Madrid. It's been the heaviest snowfall since 1971 they say.

The first shot here is my favourite from the bunch.

A presser at the zoo

I was invited to attend the 10th birthday (of sorts) of Qannik the polar bear at the Louisville Zoo. My bestie is a well known local media personality and a 502Livestreamer. This was kind of on short notice on the 30 degree day so I layered up, masked up and decided to take the K3 II with one lens. The 16-85 provides to most versatility. Also stuck the GRIII in a jacket pocket.

After the birthday party, the communications director gave Tara and I a golf cart ride to the gorilla house where we spent over an hour with them. There’s one gorilla there that loves to look at cell phone pictures and will tap on the glass when he wants you to go to the next image. (I shot that w/ the GRIII).

In both locations and especially the latter, I was shooting through thick dirty glass and high ISO indoors. The images looked better converted to mono in post.

I was pretty pleased to get away from taking self-portraits and pictures of my dog. This was the first event shoot I’ve done since last June.
