Thanks everyone who helped me decide to get this lens.

And thanks Sara for the link to your photos taken with this lens. I also read your review in the database.

I can get this lens for less than $200. And since I'm returning a defective lens, too, I can get it as a trade in. Though, I'm still not absolutely sure I should get it. I only need it to take two photos.

This lens is near the top of my "to Buy" list. I've seen it in the SC and elsewhere, I'm impressed with the quality of the photos, and I love the wide angle.

I've had this lens for three months now. I was never expecting to buy this lens, but a service award at work made it available to me. I never though I would want a fisheye, but I love this lens. Infinity focus is about a foot away so it's pretty easy to shoot with, and you can get a straight horizon by putting it in the middle of the frame, still fishy but a different look. I haven't taken any masterpieces with it yet (or with any other lens for what that's worth), but I like it.now I need it because of the things it can do that other lenses can't do.

I love mine. Paid $240 and that seemed like a great deal. Sub-200 seems like a no-brainer!

A bunch more images here.

I've been yearning this lens and it's definitely going to be my next lens purchase once I get the funds.

I need to go wide

It's either this or the 16-45 for me, and I think I'd like this lens more.

I'm going to go ahead and get this lens. I've been wanting one for two years. This is the easiest way to get one.

Versatility is important too. May I suggest the 10-17? It is Fisheyed on the 10 side and rectilinear on the 17 side.

I could get the Samyang 8mm and the 16-45 zoom for the same price as the 10-17. If I were going to spend that much that's what I'd do.

Just to be clear, the 8mm is not a classic fisheye regarding the various projections. It is unique as a near-stereographic projection. That is to say - as UWA lenses are concerned - it has less distortion than any UWA rectilinear or fisheye if the scene is not architectural. Rounded objects (such as human heads or various balls) tend to show less grotesque distortion than other standard, but extreme projections.

Its applications are limited, but when used creatively (as several shots above show), it is an amazing lens that really does not compare to other UWA lenses. And, it is very sharp when stopped down a bit. I don't use it much, which is a shame, because once you get to understand it - the creativity and image quality is unique and nearly boundless. You really have to think about creating the shot with this lens.

I have two photos in mind both are landscape situations. I do not shoot people if I can help it.
