D FA* 70-200mm F2.8 ETA according to B&H

I just got an e-mail update regarding my pre-order of the D FA* 70-200mm, which stated that the lens wasn't expected at B&H until February 2016. Just thought I'd pass the info along.

Interesting if accurate. Feb 2016 will be about one year from when the first version of the lens saw the light of day. Ricoh must be subjecting the lens to quite a performance revamp. Or maybe they are simply building up inventory to ensure there will be adequate supply once the FF hits stores. ???

That fall in line with my theory that we won't see the FF body until at least March 2016.

This is the lens ETA. Lenses do not generally have 42Mpx sensors, but perhaps this one is unique in that respect.

Did you notice a K-3 is 24 MP and 42 uses the same two numbers only reversed?

Well, this is good and bad. This means the FF will be a little later than I need, and the main lens I am waiting for will hit in Feb?

Good thing I have a brand new FS7 to play with and evaluate and keep me occupied until we see what comes with the FF.

Pentax is refining the lens to ensure it is optimized for the CDAF of the upcoming K-02, due to be released in February 2016.

Ricoh sucks at releasing lenses. Nobody is going to care about this by the time it is released, except a few enthusiasts and testers.

And 42 is the answer to the question of 'what is meaning of life, the universe and every damn thing?'. As any fan of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy would know.

A 42Mpx camera will be the answer to 'what is the meaning of photography?'. Or am I guilty of fanning excessive expectations for a Pentax FF?

It's a better thing that it's a good lens, without issues.

Ricoh/Pentax isn't the only one. Nikon just delayed the release of their new updated 24-70/2.8. The sensors on these newer cameras demand perfection.

Kenspo wrote that its not true that the 70-200mm Lens will hit the market in 2016. Pentax will stick to its latest release date (in 2015).
