First shots SMC- Pentax-M 50mm f1.7

Just got this lens that I got off eBay and I am totally stoked at the quality of the shorts. Here are a couple I took last night and tonight....

Picasa Web Albums - Nicholas - Family

For an old manual focus lens I am really happy.

Congratulations Nicholas!
This was the first MF lens that I purchased. Also from eBay.

Can you share the EXIF details on these pictures?

From memory all were taken at ISO 100-400, 1/180 Sync speed with a Sigma EF500 ST flash.

Flash was bounced at full power.

I don't have much else for you unfortunately.

Oh, that will do, thanks. I thought that there was no flash, that's way I was interested in EXIF.

I actually turned the flash head backwards and bounced the light off the wall behind me. I also had the white balance set to Tungsten to take away that really warm glow and get better skin tones and colours.

It was my first manual focus lens as well!!
Do you think it says something about our personnality?

I bought my camera being completely ingnorant about the lenses available for each different system. Because of the old pentax glass i don't think i am ever going to change!

My SMC-M is nice, but you should feel one of the SMC-Ks. The built is just incredible and the focusing ring is incredibly smooth and fun to play with...

I would imagine its nearly as good as an m42 Takumar lens, of which I own several. if you think K series was amazing just hold a Takumar and you will experience lens nirvana I assure you.
