LBA Strikes again - BIGMA

Well I finally broke down and bought a BIGMA. I'll post some shots this weekend. I'm confident it will improve my motorsports shots this summer. It will certainly be an improvement over the 300mm manual Vivitar I've been using up till now. Of course, as an added benefit the Bigma provides me with much needed exercise. I'll surely lose a couple of pounds every day I carry it around on the K10D. Anyone have a hint on a good monopod?

On another note, I tried out the DA* 300mm at the store. VERY NICE but I decided the Bigma was more versatile. Also, it was the first SDM lens I've tried and frankly it wasn't as "silent" as I expected. Has anyone else notice this?

Cool Enjoy Mike ! It is not too bad to hand hold , be prepared for some stares , and some smart ass comments walking around with it and the odd security guard at the airport giving the once over.

I use a monopod at times - generic one I purchased from Roy many monts ago it seems to work out ok .... more often than not I do use it hand held.

PRO SERIES AM-104B MONOPOD KIT BY DYNATRAN - eBay (item 200231563349 end time Jun-20-08 12:00:00 PDT)
that the one i picked up Mike. It worked well with my Bigma. I added a ball head to the top and I use it a fair amount

Congrats on the new lens

Bang for buck, this seems like a good deal and it's longer than the ebay one:
Amazon.com: Canon Monopod 100 for SLR Cameras & Lenses: Camera & Photo

I've been thinking of getting it for my "strobe on stick" experiments and it looks like it'll work for "camera on a stick" as well :-)

I'm happy with my Manfrotto 681B pod. Sturdy, not too heavy.

Congrats....

I want that lens so bad... just can't justify it right now.

I certainly have lens envy of you!
