16-85 Question

When using the AF on the 16-85 (pressing the shutter button down) does any of the outer barrel rotate powered by the AF (for example one of the focus rings), or is all AF movement kept inside of the barrel? I have asked someone else this, but would like the answer from a possible user.

Thanks for any information.

It is an internal focus lens.
