Got me, you cheeky scamp.

Very nice picture - you should also post in the Film SLR Gear thread.

I forget - do these lenses default to wide open or tightly closed on completely manual bodies?

Also, you're a teasing bastard, mate.

Oh well..... first couple of HD DFA 150-450 shots from my back yard. Was having problems yesterday with the lens....... it didn't play well with the canon "S" screen in my K3 (exposure issues)..... so replaced it with the original (once I found it!)..... also had trouble with back focus....... ended up at this point with +10 correction........ still doesn't quite match LV focus. Anyway.... I bought this lens because I wanted about 450mm in reach (on APSC) and the flexibility of the focus range. Any shots you see from me are just walking around and shooting..... no tripod.

450mm, Iso400, 1/200, f7.1

That is a super shot ! (the little bird on the branch).
Hard to believe the details and the "crisp" look; great colours as well.

Visit here as well:https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/122-lens-clubs/294721-post-your-hd-pentax...-pictures.html
and post some of your photos for us.

That bird shot is really, really good. I know a forum pic isn't the best judge of the lens's capabilities, but all else aside it looks like Pentax have done a really good job with their new glass. If the full-frame takes full advantage of that and has its act together as well as its big, medium-format brother, it could well be a game changer.

I suspect Pentax/Ricoh have been learning a lot from the development process and subsequent in-service experience with the 645 MF-DSLRs and working that into the full-frame, hence why we have had to wait for so long. The 645s have got some good reviews from shooters who are dedicated to Canikon in smaller formats, so I think there's room to win some converts if all goes well, and having high-quality, long zoom glass ready to go isn't going to hurt it at all.
