DA 40, 20-40 or DA 70 ?

Using flash and a big zoom? Maybe that works for some... My 3 boys would run away before I could have the flash firmly attached...

Use offcamera flashes that are already in the rooms - buy a dozen or more and have your wife constantly make sure they are fresh with good batteries. Then set your K3/K50/etc to wireless master and you're always ready. LOL

Of course it can be a challenge

sometimes you have to do without.

Which one is better btw these 3:

Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 XR Di-II LD
Pentax DA 16-85mm
Sigma 24-70mm

Is that anyone have any experience ?

I don't have experience with either of these. However, for the first 5 years of my daughter's life, the Tamron 28-75/2.8 never came off my *list DS. It was sharp and very adequate for 99.9% of our needs. With current bodies, you could really crank the ISO and still have noise-free images. I would come home and my wife would show me fantastic images of the girl in 5 different outfits all over the house. I like the range, and it is FF ready, if that matters for you in a few years. I still feel a pinch of regret that I sold it to fund other lenses....

In the grand scheme, I should have kept it. I learnt that selling a lens I really enjoyed for the versatility it provided wasn't worth it...

I have had the Tamron and currently have the 16-85mm. Both are plenty sharp enough. I like the Pentax's range more but the Tamron is obviously faster. Imho 16 or 17mm are much more desirable starting points for a APS-C lens than 24mm. I think the 16-85mm is the most versatile option if you couple it with a fast prime and/or flash.

To be honest with what you're looking for I'd do a Sigma 18-35 f/1.8, a Sigma 24-70 HSM, and a Tamron 70-200 f/2.8 or a Pentax 16-50 f/2.8 and a Pentax 60-250 f/4.

Just a though to add on lighting. Mastering flash photography is important, using a diffuser with flash is essential. While I have two AF360FGZ flashes and diffusers, I also have Rotolight RL-48 LED ring lights that are well suited to photographing young children. The RL-48's have Lee ND filters and Lee creative colour filters. You can mount one on the hot shoe and prop the other on the floor with a pillow or set it on a tripod. The two light set up and colour filters will empower you with a significant range of creative options. Cheers.

16-85 is 3.5. Not problematic in indoor ?

It can be...But so can f2.8, which is not all that much faster than f3.5.
Hence my suggestion for flash

I can't count all the times where even with a f2.8 lens wide open, I was at ISO 3200 just to keep the shutter speed reasonable for stationary subjects.
Yes, flash is more cumbersome and it adds complexity...but imho it has the ability to improve one's photography a lot more than an expensive lens.
