Hell kh1234567890, appreciate & honor your opinion, but you give no reason or post a photo to tell us WHY you hate this lens?? And Full Frame guys are not "mugs" as you say
It is big, heavy and clunky. Sharp, but not all that sharp. Terrible ergonomics - focus ring throw angle far is too short for a 105mm manual focus lens, to focus nearer than some 1.5m you have to engage the bizarre 'macro' mechanism. Lens front rotates and it takes huge 67mm filters. It is susceptible to veiling flare so you really need a good hood to keep the contrast up - finding one that is effective over the whole focal range is not easy. It is an 'ok' lens - not a 'bag of primes' and not for my style of shooting.

As for full frame - I won't go into that one ...

I quote a review from the internet "There aren't many newer zoom lenses that can offer the image quality this one can for the similar price. Had this all metal 15 glass element lens been made today, it would have earned a star rating and a price of $ 999 instead of $ 50 to 90".

And for those of you who say heavy or big, here is a comparative:-
Sharpness Overall Length x Dia Weight
1. A 35 - 105 f3.5 9.0 9.5 98 x 70 mm 615 gram
2. A 28 - 135 f4 7.5 8.0 112 x 80 mm 820 gram
3. A 70 - 210 f4 8.5 9.1 149 x 72 mm 680 gram

I have attached 3-resources and reviews - word file - from the internet. Request please read it:-

As a modern comparison with the A35-105, the Sigma 24-105 f4 C is also a FF lens, but is half a stop slower, is heavier (885g), plus has an 82mm filter size. It's a very nice lens, but a real brick. The A 35-105 feels tiny in comparison. The Sigma is not available in Pentax, but who knows, in future it might be.

it doesn't feel big or heavy to me at all. It feels like a camera lens...one that isn't made of plastic. I agree that it does benefit from a hood, but most lenses do to greater or lesser degrees.
