One great thing about the Single In challenge is that you use that lens for a month, and learn how to use it to best advantage.

I wouldn't bother getting 2 mm more width, get a 10-17mm I rented one last month and it is fantastic.
For that matter, renting lenses is a great idea, try before you buy. I am doing that right now with a 21mm and I'm convinced it's on my short list to buy
