Pentax 12-24 zoom ring question

So I just got my recently purchased 12-24 in the mail. The zoom ring has a bit of vibration in it while going to either extreme. It's not bad but it's noticeable. It also turns quite easily. A lot easier than I'm used to on, say, the 18-135. Just wondering if this was normal of if I should consider returning it. I got it from eBay for $440 and the guy has no returns, but his listing also said there are no issues so I don't think if have any problem filing a claim and returning it. Thanks

I only recently handled one and don't have it here. I didn't notice vibration. My dad has the lens and is travelling today. I will ask him to test it against his 17-70 Pentax and 50-135.

When I first got Into photography two years ago, I bought a pentax 28-105 or something. It did the same thing but much worse. I ended up returning it just out of precaution. This isn't too bad so not sure if I should even worry. But $440 is a lot to waste on something that may be faulty.

I'm actualy heading out right now to go test it a bit so I'll see how it feels when I'm using it. I'll report back this evening.

My copy has a little vibration as well. Not enough to bother but enough to notice. It also turns quite a bit easier than the 18-135. It is an older design and similar to FA lenses or other screwdrive lenses of that time period. If the images come out OK, I don't think I would be too worried as long as it is smooth when zooming.

You might have a bit of dust near the rings. My 7 year old 12-24 has some, and it is noticeable, but not in the pictures, the zoom is just a little bit "gritty" feeling. Time for the Rocket Blower or even the vacuum cleaner.
