ANYONE HAVE IT - HD Pentax-D FA 24-70mm f/2.8ED SDM WR Lens

Pentax HD Pentax-D FA 24-70mm f/2.8ED SDM WR Lens 21310 B&H

I have come into some photo gear money and have a few things on the list. One is a good 42-70 range 2.8 - just saw this and was looking for feed back. No reviews posted that I could find from anyone.

I have wanted something in this range and was leaning towards a Sigma originally Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 -

Should I really spend the extra $500?

It should start shipping in about a month.

Oooooo! Lucky you! You'll have to post some portraits for us. As always, I'm very curious how lenses resolve fine features like eyelashes and eye color. That's like an ultimate test in my book.

B&H has had an ETA of 10/20ish for at least a week.. if not longer (that is as far as I've checked). Not sure from whom you get your info, but it appears they are wayyy off with this one.

I suppose this means your review of this lens will be delayed by a month too?

I don't think there's much of a reason to do anything but a first impressions review before the FF is out...

Maybe I'm just remembering incorrectly! I wrote late October in the homepage post, not late November.

I'd love to see the 24-70 compared against the 24-90 on full frame if you have copies of both. The 24-70 is of course faster but from F4 up, I'd be interested. The colors of the FA are pretty awesome.
