Just got a NIB D-FA 50mm macro

Just won an auction for a NIB Pentax D-FA 50mm Macro for $169.26 from a camera store that is going out of business here in Massachusetts. Needless to say, I'm happy with the price. Any issues with the D-FA 50mm Macro I should be on the look out for? (especially since I cannot return it)

It is terribly dangerous - lucky for you if you send it to me I will dispose of it for you.

Wow -- what a steal. Congratz! One of the few modern Pentax macros I haven't owned, so can't comment from personal experience, but I've seen plenty of nice shots taken by it

One of the sharpest DA lenses, but focusing accuracy can be a little slack on my K-5 and K-5IIs.

The DFA50 is my favorite macro lens, and I've tried a good half dozen or so. You'll like it, especially for that price!
Among the ones I have not tried are the DFA100 and 35 Limited.. maybe some day?

MJS, you're going to find it an unbelievably good 'normal' field-of-view lens on full-frame. Nicely done!

I've got the DA 35mm Limited -- an excellent overall performer.
If I like the DFA 50mm better, I might sell the 35mm and replace it with a FA 31 Limited.

If you did that, you'd also end up with two FF lenses. :-)

Well, I do have plans to eventually add a 77mm Limited to my collection, so it would only be appropriate for those two FF lenses to have some more brethren!

The front element can be really shaky and wobbly, especially when fully extended. Be careful if you intend to mount heavy filters or accessories onto it.

Otherwise, it's a fine lens. Enjoy it in good health!

Just tested it out with a 1980s era Olympus T10 ring flash and it seems to perform quite well.
At least as nice as my Nikkor 60mm Micro on my D800 but with slightly better reach and much smaller filters!
