Why the DA 35ltd Macro doesn't suck

(posted in another thread also - started this afresh here to keep in the 'why xxx doesn't suck' theme...

Taken with the DA 35ltd on the early evening walk with the little guy. Not a lot
of time for composition, etc, but I like them as walkabout snapshots. I think this
shows off the casual-macro and D-normal attributes of the lens pretty well:

Looks like an awesome lens, your images have plenty of life in them. Now I want one.

I know I've posted this one before, but it's one of my favorites taken with the DA35.

Color and contrast are awesome, reminds me a little of the Flektogon 35/2.4 (but i may just miss this lens too much)
If i hadn't just ordered the 50-135/2.8, i'd be all over this, so i better give it some time and think about FA50/1.4 and CZJ 35/2.4 instead of this one now

Thanks for sharing, and do people really have anything wrong to say about this lens? Seriously?

Needless to say, I disagree.

I hadn't. Looks like a few hard core "dislikers" not a large genral consensus of it being bad.
I liked the close focus of the Flektogon 35/2.4 and could see myself enjoy the DA 35/2.8, just no budget for it now.
Those rampant dislikers of any lens or body should be left alone, you can't convince them, and you may miss some worthwhile topics while refreshing their (what i perceive as) stubbornness

And i decided jsherman is a Pentax agent, posting awsome shots to make us want to buy stuff.
I just can't blame the 50-135 purchase on him, but for about anything else ;P

OK, OK, I'm kidding!

Love the bee's arse, J. Great composition there

I really can't justify this focal length, otherwise I'd be drooling all over it (the lens, not the focal lenght).

jsherman,

This shot is fantastic... and the 'short' macro makes it possible. Great use of a specific lens. Don't show me any more of this though, because I've managed to hang on to that tax refund money for two whole months... hmmm...

How did he (jsherman) get so close to the bee... it's a DA35mm, and if it's a 1:1, he's pretty darn close to the bee? and it never flew off?

It's such a joy to use this one...

Maybe he cropped it. I would hope so because I wouldn't want to get that close to anything that could potentially sting me.
