Hello,

I am thinking of purchasing the Pentax 200mm 2.8 but it doesn't appear to be listed on the Pentax USA website. Is this lens discontinued? Thanks!

A lot of lenses aren't listed on the Pentax USA website. It's kind of a mess. It's still on ricoh-imaging.co.jp so I don't think you have to worry about it being discontinued.

Just had a look at German "best-buy" portals.
All big shops still offer the "SMC-Pentax DA 2.8/200mm ED IF SDM", which probably is what you mean. Half of them have it on stock and deliver within 24-48 hours.
Cheapest is Amazon Germany.

So, if it is really discontinued, there are still lots of stock available.

Not sure what Ricoh's doing with the US website but as boriscleto pointed out, it's kind of a mess particularly the lens line up. Other than the 20-40, none of the HD limiteds are listed.

A lot of things are missing - accessories like AC power supplies, lens hoods, eye pieces/cups - you name it.

If they used an outside service for the website somebody is laughing all the way to the bank.

I read on another thread here they are rumored to be gradually moving the Webstore in-house. Gradually seems to be the operative word.

It's still listed in the Canadian price guide. Since Ricoh essentially drop ships from Japan, etc. that means it's still available there.

Safe to say if it was discontinued, Ricoh USA would not be the first to know - and certainly not the first to remove it from the website.
