There is more than one version, the most recent are Cosina-made. Do you know more about the lens you are interested in?

It is probably a reasonably good lens, though not worth much money. My understanding is that most of the Vivitar 50mm lenses were made by Cosina for sale with inexpensive Vivitar-brand film SLR cameras. On the U.S. market in very good condition I would expect a price of no more than $25 USD. By comparison, the quite excellent Pentax-M 50mm f/1.7 sells for about $45 USD in similar condition.
