The SMC 40 Ltd was the first one on the row.
Then I had to get the SMC 21 Ltd which not so later was screaming after the 35mm Ltd macro - so I had to buy that also.
And I'm constantly checking the prices (used and new) on the 70 and the 15...

And wait, I'm thinking about getting the 43... and the 20-40 .... Also the 77 is a marvel...

Did someone mentioned earlier disease?

My first was the DA 40 limited. It took me quite a while to warm up to it...but i love it now. So compact and sexy.

It took a couple years until I shelled out the cash for another, this time the 21. I wanted wide, but not too wide (as I already had the DA 10-17. The 21 clicked with me right away. Same great build quality as the 40. Almost as compact and I love the focal length. Plus I love the close focussing capabilities.

It wasn't long until I had to grab the 70. Again it took a while to warm up to it...but recently I have fallen in love with it. So sharp.

I'm really torn in what I want next. So tempted by 2 choices. DA *55 or the 20-40 limited. Love the images both create. Would love the speed of the 55 but the flexibility of the 20-40.

My first limited was the 77mm, i really like the images and small size, my second limited is the 31mm very nice images, normal fov on the apsc and pixie dust, and maybe buy the 43mm some day, i dont like the fov of the xs40mm when i have it and thats the reason why im still on the fence for the third amigo

I am thinking of going down that path too, but also maybe the 35 macro, I like macro images, can't see why not to have both as they are very different lenses.

If you are into macro and you like that focal length, you won't be disappointed.

I think about the 43mm but it's too close to both 77 and 31, maybe the 15mm with be my third amigo ^^ rule of thumb : choose either x2 or /2 the focal length of the existing prime

It should be. What a lens. My first foray into premium prime territory.
True. I refrained from mentioning it on my post to follow the terms of the original question. But it should be there with the rest.

Assuming it wasn't really a steal , everyone needs a friend like that.
His dad worked in the Industry and he had the three amigos but only had love for the 43 and 77. I did a favor for him, he offered the crazy good price as Thanks along with the caveat that it wasn't a lens he loved.

I plan to get around to looking at the FA 35 vs FA 31 soon. The truth is the few shots I made with the FA 35 were pretty awesome and even the DA 35 plastic fantastic I had and sold was no slouch.

The FA 35 is certainly smaller, but since I have the 15 and 40 - the 31 focal length seems better suited to my needs.

What about the DA 35 macro as an alternative to the DA 35 f/2.4?
Slower but a bit more flexible.
No it is more the focal lenght. I would like something a bit wider but the same size and filter size as the 35 2.4. My light kit is a small lens bag that clips onto the belt and holds any two my trio and the third lens is on the camera. When I have my whole kit with me I do also have the FA20-35 which is relatively new to me and I need to keep remembering that I have it.

It does look like the 35 macro would also fit in the case so that is a thought. I hardly ever borrow my wife's 90 macro for macro and never borrow it to just use after I got the 70DA which I think is now my favourite lens. Thanks for the suggestion.

So, my first Limited experience didn't last long ...I ordered a 77 today. I shouldn't have, but the price was too good to pass up.

Was tempted by the 70 for the price, but at 2.4, not enough of a difference between it and my 50-135. Next lens will be the 21.

Is it wrong that I'm already planning on the next lens?
