My first Limited ...

They say you always remember your first. ... Mine is the 15.

The reputation for build quality is deserved. What a solid little chunk of metal and glass.

Although I have the 16-50, I wanted the 15 for its flare resistance and compact size. Today was cloudy and I didn't get a chance to point it at the sun. The 16-50 is quite a flare monster, so I'm quite looking forward to using this little gem.

I can tell the Limited fever beginning to burn a hole in my bank account.

What was your first Limited?

DA40/2.8. Tiny but brilliant. My only lens on two round the world trips, including one with family, and it did not disappoint. It's a crime that only two of my film bodies can use it and then only in P mode. I bought it and the 18-250 together as my first non-kit lenses for the *ist-DL and it was also my first prime (excluding an SMC-A 50/1.7 that came with a P50 I already owned), and while it's been sadly neglected this year due to LBA, it's so tiny and handy I just can't bear to part with it.

Agreed. I think that focal length will work great on the FF too. Lens is reportedly FF OK.

da21. Took a while to get the feel for it but I rarely go without it now. The first one is dangerous, now I have 15,21,35, 70 and the 'unofficial' limited, the DFA100.

Congrats on the lens, it's a keeper.

DA70 - Wonderful. Still use it frequently.
Recently DA15 - Love it for its compact size (although still sometimes use Sigma 10-20 f3.5).

I haven't noted any obvious problems on film. Mind you, many of my indoor shots possibly hide minor vignetting due to dark areas in the backgrounds, but there are no stand-out eyesore corners. The only reason I haven't used it more on my P3 and P30T is because it's program only on them, and since I have an SMC-M 40 coming (with an aperture ring), it probably won't be used on them again.

You will get hooked, its an addiction. My first was the DA 15, then a used DA 40, next the DA 35 Macro followed by a used DA 70 and DFA 100 Limited and finally the DA 21 also bought used. For all practical purposes these are my only lenses serving 98% of my needs. I rarely carry all of them at once but depending of my photographic venue I go out with 3 or 4 of them. The DA 21 and DA 40 seem to get the most general purpose use.

I saw this thread and realized I couldn't remember whether I got the FA 43/1.9 or the FA 77/1.8 first. So I looked through my old e-mails and discovered that I actually got them within a day of each other.

It didn't take me too long to get a shot that convinced me never to sell the 77: the sharpness and microcontrast on that sucker was nearly perfect before I did anything to it in post-processing.

I've not yet managed to create the same kind of "wow" shot with the 43. Is this the kind of rendering that people attribute to the 43, or is it just a case of really good natural lighting? I also think this one is nice.

The only other Limited I've acquired since then is the DA 21/3.2 AL, which doesn't impress me for landscapes but has nice colors and is undeniably convenient to keep on the camera a lot of the time.

DA 40. Brilliant tiny lens.
Sadly, its focal length was not good for me - neither too wide, nor too close, so I had to sell it and get 28mm and 50mm instead.
