Long Lenses Side By Side?

Last Spring many threads were started about the DFA 150-450. Two of them became populated very quickly. I followed both religiously for months. I still follow the "Post your .." thread. I can't recall or find the the other. Specifically I recall an image posted by someone... Kenspo, Vllocerp (sp? ), franc, normhead... one of the users who really makes the DFA150-450 shine... an image that showed the 150-450 next the the DA*300, Sigma 100-300 F4, and one of the Bigmas. I'd love to see that image again. I've been looking for it but can't seem to find the thread let alone the page it's on (P ~40-50 something I think).

I'd appreciate it if someone could help me out. Thanks so much.

I wonder the IQ comparison between the 150-450 as compared to the Sigma 100-300 f/4 with HD DA 1.4 tc

Sadly the Sigma 100-300 isn't in that image.

Here's some basic measurements I've collated from the forum, I believe without the hoods on.
DA* 60-250: 3.2" x 6.6" @ 1120g Min Foc: 43"
DFA 150-450: 3.5" x 9.5" @ 2000g Min Foc: 78.7
DA* 300: 3.3" x 7.2" @ 1070g Min Foc: 55"
Sig 100-300: 3.?" x 8.9" @ 1440g Min Foc: 70.9"
FA* 300 4.5: 2.9" x 6.3" @ 935g Min Foc: 78.7"
F* 300 4.5: 3.3" x 6.3" @ 880g Min Foc: 78.7"
FA* 300 2.8: 4.9" x 9.7" @ 2495g Min Foc: 78.7"
Sig 300 2.8: 4.7" x 8.4" @ 2400g Min Foc: 98.4"
DA 560: 5.1"x 20.5" @ 3040g Min Foc: 220.47"
Sig 500: 4.8" x 13.8" @ 3100g Min Foc: 157.5"
FA* 250-600: 5.3" x 17.4" @ 5400g Min Foc: 137.79"
F* 600: 7.1" x 18" @ 6830g Min Foc: 196.85"

Thats a covetable collection pearsaab. Mind going into some detail about when you choose to use which lens and why?

I just wrote a long thesis and it disappeared so i am testing this response before i do it again...maybe it was too long and the forum rejected

ok try again. i got the da 300 and 60-250 and loved them. i got into birding and they weren't long enough. then i got the bigma and loved that but after a year i wanted a faster 1..then i got the 500 and gave the 50-500 to my husband. he still uses it alot. i heard wonderful things about the sigma 100-300 and 1 came on the forum. i use it when i need more range and not worried about WR. then my husband got me the sigma 300 2.8 as a present. so i use that when i need a faster lens in lower light. in regard to usage it would be the da 300, 60-250, 500 (which i also use on the q) and then the other fall behind. i occasionally use the 1.4 teleconverter. i have a hard time giving up any of my collection so i guess you can say i have a very bad case of lba ...hope this helps,,,i did tell myself to not touch the 150-45o and so far i have been able to stand behind that.

I'd dream about having the 500 in addition to my 100-300. The problem is, I'd have to sell it to finance the 500, not to mention waiting a couple of years. I'd also hate carrying both in my bag.

Thank you so much for giving us a rundown .

The 250-600 f/5.6 is what I really want, and updated in WR would be better.
