Who would bite? DA*135mm F1.8

I've been looking what what my next purchase will be and I'm really interested in a med/long telephoto lens...
I was just thinking; if Pentax re-made the A* 135/1.8, how many of us would be interested?

I often find myself taking pictures around 135mm, it just seems like a focal length where I'm comfortable.

DA*135mm F1.8

There is a huge gap at this focal length: http://www.dpreview.com/files/p/articles/2213496840/kmount.png

I get it, there are zooms that cover this range and there are old primes, it may be a funky focal length, but I like it a whole lot for portraits and just walking around with.

Anyways, just gauging the community to see who's with me!

If they released such a lens, I would certainly be interested!

yup. so very quickly. That would be the lens that would cause me to buy more Pentax gear and the "K1"

FA31
FA43
DA*55
FA77
DFA*135

all under f2.0

How ever you purchase your gear is between you and your gear...
Though, I'm sure such a lens would cost a pretty penny!

I really think the FA77 is next on my list.
Though, I should probably get a K-3 to truly let that lens excel...
And then to feed my wildlife needs, the DA*300 soon after.

This is how it starts!

hahah, my 77 was my fifth acquisition after the two kit zooms, fisheye, and a 40mm f2.8... then the GAS became uncontrollable.

This focal length would work well for some of the stuff I do. I considered the DA* 200 and even the 60-250, but I really want smaller and lighter. F 2.8 135 would would work better for me. I will probably end up buying a F or FA 135. I'm sure this dream lens would be fabulous though!

I'm really enjoying my newly acquired FA135/2.8 - super fast AF, excellent IQ and incredibly compact. Here it is alongside the DFA100WR:

A DFA*135/1.8 would be HUGE by comparison, but WR and the extra speed would be very welcome. I'd be sorely tempted.

If it were a D FA I'd probably go for it.

Yes it must be full frame. Because if I could afford the lens, surely I will be able to afford the Pentax FF when it comes out

And along with that bring back the FA 20mm f2.8, a "D FA 28mm f2", a FF version of the DA*55 f1.4, and a "D FA 85mm f2" and I would be good to go.

OK maybe I got a little carried away...

Id be happy if Pentax just made a deal with Samyang; took their 135mm f2.0 and added DC AF! Compact, fairly good aperture, and great image quality. Or an HD update to one of the previous Pentax 135mm lenses (HD coatings, rounded blades, WR, QS).

Edit: but honestly, Im more interested in the gaps in wide angle lineup

that may be overkill....

--------

keep in mind how thin depth of field is at f2.0 let alone f1.4 on a 135mm lens. it's already CRAZY thin at minimum focus distance... I couldn't imagine how little would be in focus on a f1.4 variant.
