My LBA was completely cured in the middle of this year. I realised that a new lens doesn't make me a better photographer or more likely to go out and take photos. However in in early November I did buy the DFA 100 WR but only because it was so cheap. And just a few weeks later I bought a Lumix 25mm 1.7 but only because they were practically being given away. And as they were such incredible bargains it just doesn't count. So I'm cured. Cured I tell you!!!

How can you retire your LBA when you don't even have the K 400-600 F8-12 Reflex?

I look at your list and only see 1 50. It's not even LBA unless you own 5...

It could be argued that any true LBA sufferer who was going through an abatement phase must surely have possessed one or more examples of both by now?

What do you mean abate? I still have LBA, but there is no money to feed it...

Ain't that the truth. Or deciding that you need the 1.4 and 1.7 versions..

If you gave me $30K to spend on lenses I seriously have no idea of what I'd buy first. Oh sure, I could buy pretty much every current production Pentax lens and a fair swath of what's on e-bay and the marketplace, but there'd be no joy in it. It would be "just because I could". When my LBA hits, I have to feel I really NEED the lens before I cough money up for it. Perhaps a good way to control it is to say "nothing more secondhand unless you're holding the actual lens in your hands as you cough up the money". Because I very rarely get the opportunity to do this, that should keep me in check (and my incoming Christmas presents should sate my lust for new glass for quite some time).

I think there is both a chase component and an "interest level" factor. Having a bunch of money would remove the former for sure although I guess it might just move the ebay bid maximum up a notch. It is fun timing your bid and trying to get *that* lens at *that price. Losing it just adds to the need to find it again.

Interest level ? At the moment I'm really interested in exploring older lenses, probably M39/LTM lenses like CZJ because it'll be fun. A friend can't understand why I've bought so many cheap lenses when he has bought a few very expensive CZ lenses. I guess my answer would be I'm looking for great quality , interesting lenses (not just another mainstream choice) and an affordable price.

My A*-400 2.8 and FA* 60-250 would take up a huge amount of that, probably followed by a 560 or 600. More than half gone already. Then the 3 amigos, a 300 2.8, 200 2.8 and already over 2/3 gone. These are just the lenses I've spent hours researching and lusting over. There's the new 70-200 and 150-450 and 24-70 that I haven't really even considered yet. Do Ihave any of my 30k left?

Someone here calculated a 645z and the entire stable of current 645 lenses and accessories could be had from B&H for $55,xxx, before negotiating.

If you want a lottery dream that's a good one.

OK so, add 55,000 ro my 30,000 and I'm up to 85,000. Do I need to win one lottery or two?
