Ode to the 150mm f4 Super Tak

Upon these holidays I pack and pack
and wish of course for just a little slack!
Slack in the bag of which I'm to take,
to fit a 200 f4 I wish it to make.

Alas my time is cast back
to when a 150mm f4 I had intact
It was not as long as I thought I'd like
so sold it on I did despite
the warm love it did receive,
clearly a mistake. I was naive.

And now I long for that 135mm like length
for I understand the value and that strength.
When it comes to packing and packing
physical space I'm surely lacking.

I'm not sure I can handle such sadness so early in the morning.

Alas for stuff that I've let go.
All so useful, too late I know.
500mm with ED glass.
Never again; alas! alas!
It was Nikon, upstart make!
But oh what pictures it could take.
There's a lens from Pentax of greater length,
But my account has not the strength.
So I'll TC a zoom and hope for the best
When next I find a bird on a nest.
It will be a bit of a compromise,
Perhaps on macros I'll specialize.
