So nope to that idea
That list isn't comprehensive. There may be other bargains that drop in from time to time. I waited 6 months until my DA 40 fell in my lap at $175 which at the time was about 50-75 less than the going rate used.

Watch prices and auctions and wait; watch craigslist; you may get lucky - you could also get burned. The other route is to develop your stitching/pano skills and shoot with a good tripod and head in vertical orientation and get some nice landscapes that way. It isn't easy and it isn't quick but it does have the advantage of cost over the really wide lenses - additionally the resulting files are huge and densely detailed.

Never done that yet, but will do one day.

while Brenizer method does wonders with portraits, it can be used in numerous other situations whenever you feel like you need wide angle of view and shallow depth of field.
Applications seem IMHO to be limited to those in which a discrete foreground subject dominates the image.

Reliable profiles for de-vignetting and distortion correction, either in-camera or in post, would also appear to be a must.

Sure - that is just one method of wide angle stitching. Just shooting the scene vertically on a panning head and stitching with Microsoft ice is another easier way.

I'm almost at the 'Buy Now' for the DA 40 XS.
I loved the FL just going for a walk now.
But my mind says to save up for a nicer lens...

How much for the XS? I'm considering one for filling a space in my kit that is currently covered only by the 18-135 zoom that I've got. I plan on using a step-up ring and a small 37mm vented hood and a UV filter.

There was one on the marketplace in Canada for around 150 CAD, some in Europe for 130 EUR I believe.
230 USD new at BH.

If you buy the one in Canada, that will help me so I can't buy it

Yes, or maybe 15 Ltd or WR 100 Macro.
Or DA* 60-250 / DA* 300 if I really save up...

I just guessed, since you've been considering in the 35-50 range.

What kind of macro interests you?

I consider DA 35 and DA 50 for their price
14 year olds can't afford much

Bugs and flowers and anything...
Also like macro in the rain, which why I would prefer the 100 for WR and also the longer working distance.

Other photography I like:
Wildlife, Landscapes, Macro.
Pretty much anything to do with nature.

I found the DA15 to be difficult to use. I think my general locale is not conducive to UWA shooting. But you live in a more beautiful area. Just keep in mind that the DA15 is specialized.

It really sounds like the 100 Macro WR is for you, pricey though it is.

For larger macro subject matter - spiders, butterflies, dragonflies, etc. - you may want to consider a Tamron or Sigma 70-300 Macro, if you can find one cheap. I've owned several copies of the Tamron version, and it's capable of really good image quality. I've bought and sold a number of them over the years, looking for "better", but really the combination of image quality and working distance (3m) hits the sweet spot for me when shooting some larger insects. My current Tamron 70-300 I bought for $50/shipped as part of a 2-lens lot. If you can find one cheap it's worth getting, and loads of fun.
