Tamron 90mm f2.5 sp 52E P ?

Hi,

Please be gentle to me since I am new here
Could someone help and tell me what a Tamron 90mm f2.5 macro SP
model 52E P is? (P is for Pentax).
Is it the same as Tamron 90mm f2.5 macro model 52B or 52BB in term of
quality?
From Tamron's discontinued product list, it was discontinued in 1992, but
I don't know how it is compared to the 52B and 52BB.

Thanks --

Is this an adaptall lens? The 52B, 52BB and 72B are all manual focus 90mm macro lens for the adaptall mounts. There was an autofocus version of the 52bb out there and it was the SP 52E 90mm autofocus. It is a relatively rare lens. It only does 1:2 macor however and I don't know if ti will work with the 18F extension or 01F 2x converter to get it to 1:1.

Below is a link of the MF Tamron lens followed by one for the AF ones.

Here is a page comparing all of Tamron's 90mm macro lenses:

Variations of Tamron 90mm Macro lenses

Since these are apparently dedicated mounts, I suspect that the P may refer to Pentax. If you could post some pics we would be able to tell you for sure. Also, It would probably work with a 2x flat telecoverter to get it to 1:1 and 180mm.

One of your af-lens link shows the lens I am curious about.
It has a dedicated Pentax mount; thus, the P designation in the model name
"52E P."
Hopefully it has the same optical quality as other Tamron 90mm.

Thank you very much for your reply.

I am sure it will be, as all the Tamron 90mm Macros have a good reputation. Mine is the 52B, with the 2x converter, and I find it an excellent lens to have.
