Bigma Aperture Problem

Hi Folks,

Just purchased a bigma, but the "A" setting on the aperture ring isn't being read by my K10d so all "A" shots are at F4.0. Yes, I did push the button on the aperture setting ring and rotate it all the way to the left side of the ring, & yes it is locked in the "A" position.

Any ideas besides returning it?

Thanks,
Gary

You might check and see if all of the little contact ball bearings are working properly. It is possible that one may have gotten stuck down. Just push down on each one with a plastic (not metal) probe of some kind and make sure they all spring back up.

Is there any wiggle room between the lens and body? Does the display show f/4.0, or nothing?

No wiggle room & the display shows "f--", just as if it was still in manual mode. I think this bad boy is going back to the store.

Thanks
