I imagine all that sharpness on larger sensor with more pixels...

Any one having both these two lenses and have reasons to keep both

I use both lenses with adapter on Sony mirror-less. The Pentax WR is almost perfect when mounted on my K-5. The Tamron is more suited for adaptation to other mount because of the aperture control but the Pentax wins over in build quality, WR, and smaller size. My WR just arrived ....

Cheers,
Hin

Such lovely shots! I see that this is a full-frame lens, but it can be used on crop sensor. I have a K-50, can anyone comment on it's use with a APS-C sensor?

I've only used it on an aps-c sensor, and it's excellent.
So have I, and it is. (Of my shots in post #16, the first two were taken with the K-3 and the third with the K-30.)

True, although the pixel density on the forthcoming K-1 will probably be lower than on the K-3.

It was snowing a little bit when I started shooting these photos and I'd like to say that my K3 was completly covered with water just right after couple of minutes, including my beautiful 100mm lense of course. It's so good when you can easily ignore this and continue shooting.

Aye, totally agree Lev! Got my used ring flash and attached the DA* 1.4x tc last night to try my hand at snow flakes that were falling. I was covered with snow as was the camera and everything else. Still a work in progress but I am really liking this lens more and more. Now I can see a need for a macro rail system and focus stacking. I used a wool scarf that has a bit of blue tint in it to capture the flakes.

It's a microscopic world! very nice! One will never figure out what's on background despite the fact that it also is in focus
