I'm not sure the 18-270 is weather resistant. Better to go for the 18-135 or 16-85, depending on whether your interest is more at the zoom or the wide end. If you can afford it, supplement with the 55-300 DA WR.

DA18-135mm WR.

The DA18-270mm is not WR, although it has a longer reach.

I'd look at either the DA 16-50 or the 16-85. Your choice should depend on whether you prefer faster aperture or more reach.

I've no experience with the 16~50, but I've been extremely pleased with images from the 16~85 which replaced my Sigma 17~70, another excellent normal range zoom*. I think the Sigma 18~250 outperforms the Pentax 18~270 (which is basically Pentax's version of the Tamron 18~270) and is lower priced, if you want a long range do-it-all lens.

*The extra mm at the wide end does make a noticeable difference.
