The ad says there is a "big" suspended inside. It repeats this several times. It doesn't specify a big what. Can't anyone spell or proofread these days?

I'm gonna buy that lens and use the DNA from the bug to bring back the photogenic dinosaurs. And then I'll make a whole series of movies about it and become a millionaire. (Unless someone makes a movie like that first...).

I feel like that would be a blockbuster like 90's movie. I feel like it needs mopeds and women in heels too.

"Not sure if this is a manufacture defect or what" -- must have a low opinion of Fujinon quality control...

At least it is not a "big bug" . . .

It's not a bug, it's a feature!

If you look at the sellers other items everything he sells is rare or special including the 10 pounds of ground beef he is offering. Not sure if I'm interested in mail order ground beef.

How much for just the "bug"? I'm gonna send him that question and see if he responds.

If it was a Pentax lens, I would wonder if it's not actually a pixie that didn't make it out in time. Maybe Fuji didn't have access to any pixies, and this was the best substitute they could find...

Yes. I picked up an old RMC Tokina lens I wanted in "M42" mount, from a "fairly" well-known auction site, only to find, when I received it, that it actually was an "F/ST" mount (and, no, that doesn't mean "for screw thread"), which is a Fujica mount type. In my case, it would not fully screw onto the M42-to-K.mount adapter I wanted it to fit, so I had to return the lens for a refund. To his credit, the seller relisted the lens as "for Fujica ST", as well as including a warning note, "Caution, this lens is Fujica F/ST and may not work with all adapters and cameras.", in the description. [Too bad -- it was a really nice lens...]

I'd have a hard time believing the bug was actually captured inside the glass. Molten glass would bake it to a carbonized crisp, I'd think.
Also, it's highly unlikely the lens would have got past quality control with that stuck in it. And even if it did, I'm sure the store would have sent it back upon opening the box.
My money's on the bug being trapped on the rear surface of the front lens cell. If it sat there long enough after it expired, it probably glued itself to the glass.
It's unusual, not what I'd call rare.

I got a kick out of Canon AE-1 years ago that had a little bug get trapped and die between the prism and focusing screen. Because of the viewfinder magnification you could see it in lovely detail - like a microscope slide, almost. Not sure how on earth it managed to crawl into that crevice, as it's really, really hard to get an AE-1 apart to get it out again.
