Rokinon 24mm f/1.4, Samyang 24mm f/1.4, HD DA 21mm f/3.2 or Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8?

Hi there,

I don't know what lens to pick but what should I go for Rokinon 24mm f/1.4, Samyang 24mm f/1.4, HD DA 21mm f/3.2 or Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8?

I just need a lens that can able to shoot brighter lights when recording videos at night and more Shallow DOF and Bokeh effect as well

If you're mainly interested in shooting light light, it would probably be best to go for the fast aperture of the 24mm F1.4. The Samyang and Rokinon lenses are optically identical.

The Samyang is supposed to be amazing. Just be careful with their QC, I just got the 16mm f/2 and it focuses way past infinity. :/

Can you give more information on what you want / what's acceptable? Used okay or only new? Need to be a prime or should it offer a zoom? Price you're okay with spending? Size/handling requirements? Manual focus okay or do you really want AF? I've been looking at ~24mm primes a lot lately and wish there were more current offerings in K-mount so this thread is potentially very interesting to me.

with video the samyang/rok would probably be best bet bc you dont need af and they are nice to mf. size wise the da would obviously be much smaller if thats important but you lose a lot in aperture. the zoom would possibly be nice too bc you can zoom if need be but if you have it on like a "rig" that would take that out of the picture. idk if like an external focusing ring would work too well w the da 21 if the focus ring is small if you use one of those. ppl usually say they are pretty small on those lenses so even trying to mf with video in general might prove challenging. ive never handled a da/fa limited so idk but i have an 8mm rokinon and its mf is nice even though you really dont need it w such a large dof.

I've got that lens, and there is a reason for that: Who Killed Infinity Focus? | explora
Basically it's made in too many mounts to calibrate infinity focus for each mount type. "Cost prohibitive."
