Prodigital2000

I'm thinking about ordering a lens from prodigital2000 on ebay. I've never ordered anything from Canada. Will I have to pay any extra import fees? Any recent feedback on the company or tips would be appreciated.

They are a great bunch. I have ordered from them and their service is top notch. They are the online branch for a chain of very reputable camera shops in Canada. I think they have 5 or 6 shops but I could be wrong.

Since you are in the US you won't have to pay a thing. Nothing. No import tax, nothing. The only thing that you may have to concern yourself with is warranty work. If you have something that needs warranty work you will have to ship it back to them and let them sort it out in Canada.

Just for your peace of mind I would email/ask about that so that you have something on paper.

Other than that you won't find a better bunch of people to work with. That's been my experience. I've bought several lenses from them.

And yes, they are an authorized Pentax dealer.

Thanks. I'm going to order a Tamron 70-200. Do you know if they are an authorized Tamron dealer?

Yep. They are. That's where I got mine. Same lens.

Again just get the stuff about the warranty work in an email or something (just to be safe) but you will be fine.

I haven't had a single problem with my 70-200 but if I ever needed warranty work I would have to ship the lens back to Canada and let them handle it.

If you plan to order from Canada, you should check for the lowest price available. I use photoprice.ca and have ordered in the past from prodigital2000, lately, I've been ordering from thecamerastore.com, mcbaincamera.com both are Alberta. I've also used Henrys.com from Toronto a few times. All are very good dealers.

I believe The Camera Store will not ship to the US...

In the past I have ordered from them and had excellent service. If there is a warranty problem down the road, I believe that Pentax still offers a one year international warranty. I have used that in the past as well. Back in 2007 there were some amazing deals from Canada and Prodigital seemed to be the easiest place for US residents to order from.

There are definitely no taxes or customs to pay buying from Canada either.

I bought both my K5iis and my K3 gun barrel edition from Prodigital2000 and the service was top notch and the shipping was fast as well. Best prices in Canada last time I checked

Good luck

Randy
