for focusing with my A50 1.2, what i do is focus by eye and with focus indicator. when it looks in focus and when the camera says it's in focus, then i'll snap. i thought about getting a split prism screen, but i think my technique works fairly well.

for metering, see this. for the K10D, instead of AE-L, press the green button

OrenMc, no, the Pentax Magnifying Eyecup O-ME53, it only make the viewfinder 1.4 times bigger ( yes it helps too but not as much as the Split screen focusing screen). Split screen is actually the small forcusing screen inside the camera, just above the mirror.

to set exposure, first be sure u set Using aperture ring to permitted, then choose M mode, and turn the aperture ring to the aperture you want to use, then press the green button. that's it, and of course u can change the shutter speed and iso as you wish after.

Wow, that easy huh? I mean as far as the settings go and green button.
I know getting the actual DOF where I want it will be a different story

Thanks a bunch,
Oren

well there is the optical or digital preview for you to check the DOF.

50/1.2 is great for focusing at night brighter viewfinder for you to focus.

I don't have the 1.2, but I use the same focusing technique and it works for me

I started a thread a short while back with interest of this lens also. As I stated today I might be purchasing today, well............

One of the first few shots

I used no flash nor mirror lockup. Just a quick shot to get a feel.
I just moved so I have been jumping back and forth from unpacking and cleaning to my photo stuff.

Its going to take a little while to figure it out but I think I am going to love it.
Thanks all for the help and thanks guyi419, I hope you didn't mind me use your thread.

Any critque is always a welcome.
